Marvin PakulaMarvin Pakula is a New York City native and professional artist who's been intensely involved with art throughout his life. His passion manifested itself at a young age...he sketched, drew and painted his way through his schoolboy years. He later attended the internationally-recognized Pratt Institute art school in New York City. In addition, he finished the Famous Artists School course of instruction, whose contributors included such well-known artists and illustrators as Norman Rockwell. Pakula is accomplished in all art media and is comfortable with a wide variety of subject matter. He's currently focusing on montages and portraits of well-known athletes, executed in colored pencil and charcoal. He's also known for his exhaustively-researched oil portraits of historic figures, as well as his extensive military art experience. Along the way, the artist found time to make a name in the entertainment industry. He guided numerous productions through television's early years with the DuMont and Metromedia television studios in New York City, and later worked as a technical director for Fox television. Pakula now lives in Toms River, New Jersey. There, he spends his time creating sports art on commission and providing art instruction in the local community. His sports art is well-known to the athletes themselves, and is often seen at sports conventions and celebrity player events. |
