Celebrated Artists Meet in Greece through United States Sports Academy

DAPHNE, Ala. – The United States Sports Academy and Founding President Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich recently were able to bring together two celebrated artists usually separated by thousands of miles.  Fairhope, Ala., artist B’Beth Weldon, standing, met for lunch in Athens, Greece, with Greek artist Dr. Mina Papatheodorou Valyraki, at left.  Weldon serves on the Academy’s Art Committee and Valyraki was the Academy’s 2002 Sport Artist of the Year.  Also joining was Weldon’s daughter, Megan McGehee.  The artists became acquainted through their connection to Rosandich and the Academy; both artists have works on display in the Academy’s American Sport Art Museum and Archives (ASAMA) on the Academy campus in Daphne, Ala.  For more on the museum visit www.asama.org.
